Hematite
The name hematite comes from the greek word meaning blood. The beads are black with a metallic shine but if you break the stone, the inside is a deep blood red colour.
Hematite was associated with Ares, the god of wars and later with the Romans who called this god Mars. It was said to make one invincible. Hematite is known to have healing, grounding and calming qualities.Â
These beads are popular in Shamballa style bracelets. All of our hematite beads come on an approximately 40cm (15.5") string.Â
